Exodus of the Urbanites
(2011, digital image with accompanying audio)
A narrative of the privileged classes fleeing their cities for the bucolic, as-yet-unspoiled lakes and mountains of their fantasy-vacation spaces.
Tarr transformed instrumental audio stems into their graphical spectrograms, then digitally painted and recomposed those visuals into a landscape mural that tells the story. Once the visual composition was completed, this final spectrogram image became the accompanying audio work (download mp3).
The final image installation is 10 feet wide and 6 inches high, and is available as a framed or unframed print, and as a canvas with embedded electronics to present audio. Please contact to acquire or exhibit.
